Why Study Culinary Arts at ISAC?
Since 2008, Instituto Superior de Alta Cocina (ISAC) has prepared culinary professionals in Ciudad Juárez, just minutes from El Paso and at the heart of the Paso del Norte region. Our officially recognized culinary programs combine classroom instruction with hands-on training, giving students the opportunity to develop their skills in professional kitchens from the beginning. For students in El Paso and the surrounding border region, ISAC offers a practical path to build a career in culinary arts while studying just across the border.

Our Graduates Tell the Story Best
From the Classroom to Professional Kitchens and Their Own Businesses
ISAC graduates have taken their training into restaurants, hotels, culinary projects, and businesses throughout the Paso del Norte region. Among them are Maryan and Sonia, ISAC graduates recognized by NET magazine for their work with corn and traditional Mexican cuisine. Their story reflects what we value at ISAC: understanding the ingredients, techniques, and traditions of Mexican cuisine while developing the professional skills needed to work in today’s culinary industry.
Others have chosen entrepreneurship. Chef Jorge Muñiz Sáenz discovered his passion for cooking at the age of 16 and built his professional career from that foundation. Like him, ISAC graduates have gone on to develop and lead their own culinary projects. At ISAC, the goal is not simply to teach you how to cook. We prepare you to understand how a professional kitchen works, how a culinary operation is sustained, and how your skills can become a career.
What You Will Find at ISAC
Your culinary education is shaped by more than a curriculum. It is shaped by the kitchens where you practice, the chefs who teach you, and the experiences that prepare you for professional service. At ISAC, these three elements come together to create a practical, professional learning environment in the Paso del Norte region.
Professional Kitchen Training From the First Semester
Our culinary laboratories are designed to give students experience with the equipment, techniques, organization, and pace of a professional kitchen. Instead of learning techniques only in theory and practicing them later, students begin developing practical skills from their first weeks at ISAC.
Learn From Working Chefs
Our instructors bring professional culinary experience into the classroom. Students learn from chefs who understand what happens beyond the recipe: preparation, timing, organization, ingredients, service, teamwork, and the standards expected in a professional kitchen.
Experiences That Build Professional Skills
Culinary competitions, multi-course dinners, guest chefs, local ingredients, and special projects give students opportunities to practice teamwork, organization, creativity, and performance under pressure. These experiences help bridge the gap between the classroom and the realities of a professional kitchen.
