Leonardo Díaz: Young Passion for Cuisine from Ciudad Juárez.

At just 26 years old and with a decade of experience in renowned kitchens in Ciudad Juárez, Chef Leonardo Díaz had already emerged as one of the young promises of borderland gastronomy. His appearance on the cover of Enfiéstate magazine in 2013 reflected not only his talent but also his unwavering dedication to a craft that has always been his true calling.
A graduate of the Instituto Superior de Alta Cocina (ISAC), Leonardo found in the kitchen a space of discipline, creativity, and freedom. His training combined professional technique with a humanistic vision of the craft, convinced that gastronomy is a way to connect with others, share culture, and create memorable experiences.

In his own words: “I discovered that being a chef was truly what I wanted to do. I believe it’s a very noble craft, a profession where you can give so much.” The phrase tattooed on his skin — “Live to cook, cook to live” — perfectly sums up his philosophy: live to cook, cook to live.

Years later, that youthful passion evolved into creative maturity and professional leadership. A clear example of this is his role as host of the 7-course dinner “Night Among Friends” at MaríaChuchena restaurant, where he shared the kitchen with Chef Erik Guerrero in a collaboration that celebrated the flavors of northern and southern Mexico.

From his early steps to his current projects, Leonardo Díaz embodies the spirit of gastronomy graduates in Ciudad Juárez: chefs with vision, roots, and their own fire.
